Experience Arts School

Brazil and Argentina Outreach Team

2013

Ed & Joani Castillo

Ed and I are really excited to be leading this team of young Artist Leaders on this amazing trip to Brazil and Argentina.  This will be Ed’s and my fourth time to lead a performing team out of the country, and we are expecting God to do miraculous things!  Our past experience tells us trips like this not only expand the Kingdom of God, they expand the hearts and faith of those going. – and we are confident that is exactly what will happen on this trip.  The purpose of our tour will include several things:  1)  to ‘scout the land,’ in hopes of taking a small production back in 2014 and 2016 when the World Cup & Olympics will be in Brazil; 2) to provide evangelistic outreach support to the ministries currently on-the-ground; 3) to provide ministry and support to the local Church; 3) to provide leadership and technical training for the resident leaders; and 4) to provide artistic training for the local children/youth.   More specifically, in Brazil we have plans to minister in churches, parks, and the favelas (A favela is a shanty town in Brazil.  They are the residences of poor people built on hillsides around major cities and are governed by drug lords).  We will be using performances and arts training outreaches as our vehicle to bring the love of Christ.   In Argentina we will also be performing in the community, working with the local church, and providing training for the teachers and students of the Punchinello Arts School – an arts school created as an outreach to the surrounding area.

In preparation for our trip, each team member is spending an average of 4-8 hours a week meeting together for bible study, prayer, ministry development, fundraising, and rehearsals.  It is a huge commitment and I couldn’t be more blessed by the level of sacrifice being made by each and every one of them!  Beyond the time commitment, every participant has also been tasked with raising the $3500 required to cover airline tickets, lodging, and food.  Wow!  What more can I say that will show you the heart and passion this group has for God’s Kingdom and His Kids – both lost and saved!

The Arts are an incredible tool for by-passing cultural and language barriers and brining the gospel to those who are lost!  We are so blessed to have been given this opportunity to use our gifts to bring God’s radical saving love and grace to those who are in such desperate need.  We covet your prayers and appreciate your financial gifts more than you could possibly know.  We are fully aware that it takes MANY to accomplish God-sized assignments, so thank you for joining us on this GREAT adventure to be a light in the midst of darkness.

Below, meet our team and support our mission with your donation!

Ever since I first saw E.A.S. perform last Christmas, I felt a drawing to be apart of the school. God put on my heart a desire to want to be apart of what this arts program is all about. He fulfilled my desire just this past January by opening up a teaching slot at the school. Once I started to get tied in with the school, I then started to learn about the Brazil and Argentina missions trip. My heart, again, started dancing with the same desire I had I felt back in December before I started working at E.A.S. Uncertainty and doubt started to settle in because of how much the trip will cost and when the trip is, but I couldn't help but think of how awesome it would be to be able to go and use dance to minister to the people around us. Joani said in one of our meetings that sometimes we just need to take a step of faith... In this case, it's a big giant leap. But my thought is if God provided a job for me here at E.A.S. when I had that desire to be apart of the school, He can surely provide the money for me to be able to go to Brazil and Argentina. I saw a quote somewhere that says, "The first step towards getting somewhere is deciding that you are not going to stay where you are." I have been wanting to go on a mission trip for a very long time now and what more of a perfect mission trip is this one. We are going to dance, perform, teach dance, and show the love of Jesus in two wonderful countries with the gifts that God has blessed us with. After praying about it for a couple of weeks, I decided that I was going to take MY step and GO. God is going to use this trip to stretch and test my faith/trust and He is also going to make me step out of my comfort box to use the gift Has has given me to do what He has called His children to do...minister to the lost. I am ready for my spirit to grow and I am so ready to start taking more steps of faith to get me places I know I am supposed be!

I would like the opportunity to travel to Brazil and Argentina to share the love of Jesus through the arts, and especially through dance. I believe God uniquely gifts and calls each one of His children and equips them to reach the world. He pours out His love in our hearts and gives us passions with a divine purpose. The awesome God of the Universe, the amazing Creator, also designed his children to create and to release His Kingdom on Earth through God-inspired creativity. How awesome is that?!! Not only are we called to reach the world, but we get to do it exactly the way He designed us to and have FUN in the process. God truly is GOOD!!!

When I heard that you could volunteer to be a part of the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympic Games in 2012 I set my heart on making it to Brazil in 2016. In the Fall of 2012 I joined Experience Arts School Collaborative dance company where my vision was expanded to not only travel to Brazil in 2016 for the Olympics but in 2013 on a mission trip in efforts to build relationships to return for the World Cup in 2014. I see this mission trip as an opportunity of a lifetime to build relationships and win souls for Christ through a language that everyone understand, the arts. My heart is to live a life, traveling the world teaching, preaching and spreading the gospel through dance, spoken word, drama, music and if I am somehow blessed with the ability to draw and paint I will gladly use it as a tool too. I believe that God will provide for this trip and thank you in advanced for being a supporter of the vision God has for my life.

My name is George Jones and i love Jesus Christ and Trust Him to be my lord and savior. For that reason alone, i would love to share the love of Jesus Christ with others around the world. God is doing amazing things in the arts community and especially in dance. God has been working miracles in my life. From winning Americas Best Dance Crew, to being able to travel to other countries. but its all the work of God. And He has be continuing to bless me so that i may bless others. This is an amazing time to be apart of Gods army of Artist because i believe He is using us to shape the young minds of this Generation and beyond. My dream is to influence people in a positive way and Help them realize that Jesus Christ Loves them. if i can help someone realize that by doing a couple of 8 counts...then I'm all for it!

I have been teaching and helping as one of the company directors at EAS for about 4 years. I've seen God bring several different dancers into the dance room but I've realized that it has been the faithful few who are the ones that God has there to be mentored, discipled and trained. During that process I'd like to believe that I've grown as a teacher, director, man of God and mentor... and now, seeing that God is opening this window of opportunity to travel to Brazil & Argentina; I know this will be a great chance to put my faith to action and challenge myself to renew my teaching ability by making myself available for what God is doing in Brazil & Argentina!

In my 24 years on this earth, God has worked in immeasurable ways but I know He has only begun to open my eyes!  I was originally apprehensive about going on an overseas mission trip knowing that I could not rely on myself to get there.  However, God used those thoughts to shine a light on my faith in Him as a provider.  At this point in my journey, I am ready to step out of my comfort zone in order to put my faith to the test.  I'm excited to Let Go and Let God use me in the lives of other people!  This is my heart's desire and I hope you would consider supporting me in this leap!

The moment I came on the team at EAS, I knew that God was growing and expanding the borders of our school. The mission and vision are so crucially needed, not only at home, but abroad. When I heard we were considering an international trip, I knew right away I wanted to be a part. Having traveled overseas before, I know that God always does great things when we go all in on the mission field. I am excited to serve with our awesome team, and to see what amazing things are in store. Please be in prayer for direction and favor for our team.

I want to watch God change the world! Have you ever wanted to see something up close? Get as near the action as possible? That is what my Dream is for this Argentina/Brazil trip.  Please support me as I support others in God's plan for the nations.  I want to be up close, in the action and participate in whatever God chooses to do. Pray for us all as we endeavor to share God's light! Thank you all for supporting me and this Dream.

I am beyond excited for this opportunity for so many reasons...First and foremost, to see how God is going to utilize us to help bring the light into such darkness. Second, to see how exactly God is going to use ME of all people! I may not be an 'artist'...but I do know this, my God loves me so much more than I can ever imagine and if I can help show one person how much God's love covers them and more...then I have done what God has called me to do on this trip. Thank you in advance for supporting me in such an amazing adventure!!

In 2009 I came back home to Phoenix after 2 years of dance training in Mississippi, not know what I was going to do or where I was supposed to go. Little did I know that Phoenix was where God wanted me to stay, but before long He revealed Experience Arts School and gave me a heart to invest here. For the past 4 years I have been so fulfilled as a teacher, mentor, and leader here at EAS. Now, in His amazing plan, He is taking us to Brazil and Argentina! What wonderful, exciting, purpose-driven adventures He gives His kids! And it's not just for my own growth in Him, but He is going to use those 12 days abroad to bring His kingdom to South America. I am excited to see what He has planned...it's going to be bigger and better than we can see or imagine. We welcome YOU to enter into this adventure with us...

I am so excited about this trip to Brazil/Argentina!!  I might not have as much experience as some, but I have an immense desire to serve.  I can't wait to get involved in all aspects of this trip and as scared as i may be i know my God has called me and he is not scared!!!   I heard Steven Furtick say "God doesn't call you to have enough faith to finish, he calls you to have enough faith to get started".  So I'm getting started!!!
